La Dolce Vita on the Streets of Islington


The 1960s was the golden era of Italian film with directors such as Federico Fellini making his name and stars such as Audrey Hepburn, Kirk Douglas, Bridgett Bardot, Sofia Loren, Rock Hudson, Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor looking like they just stepped out of, well, an Italian movie from the 1960s.

So, after seeing The Years of La Dolce Vita yesterday, an exhibition of photographs capturing Hollywood movie stars working in Rome in the 1960s, I went looking for style and glamour on the streets of Islington. It was a rainy day. Not the easiest of challenges…
