People Transport

Three countries, three very different cultures, three very different forms of public transport…

In Myanmar, buses are covered pick-up trucks. People are crammed in along with their bags, boxes and livestock. What cannot fit inside goes on the top, and whoever cannot fit either on top or inside hangs on the back. Oh, and any concept of health and safety is thrown out of the window!

The minibuses that transport locals in Port Moresby, the capital city, are these PMVs. If super cheap and extremely unroadworthy is what you are after then they are perfect for getting you around…

The New York subway is one of the world’s largest public transportation systems with some 468 stations open 24-7. Only Seoul, Beijing, Shanghai, Moscow, Tokyo, and Guangzhou can show off and say they carry more people.
