No. 6, More London Place

On a rare sunny day in London I wandered down to one of my fave spots for photographing man in a modern architectural setting. On my street photography Meetups I call these workshops ‘Man vs Architecture’. Usually I shoot in black and white, but with the sunshine and the gorgeous shadows and the vibrant eye-popping red of Number 6 More London Place it had to be colour!

To achieve these strong shadows without overexposing the sunlit areas I take the exposure compensation down a stop or two and that usually does the trick. I don’t know any other way to do it except maybe to work in ‘manual’, I just find that too time consuming on the street, when moments go as quickly as they pop up. I love strong shadows in street photography so my fingers are firmly crossed that summer in London will be a sunny one, so I can shoot and experiment with more.

However now I have the task of choosing my favourite out of these three…
