The Feast of St George

Yesterday Trafalgar Square was the site of the celebration of St George’s Day in London. The sun shone, then it rained, it became cold and then the sun shone again! And while at one point, while it drizzled and the brass band played an awful slow dirge that was compelling me to want to photograph people having a crap time, it thankfully didn’t last long and I managed to document the day in full colour and hopefully captured the essence of the event and in all its ‘Englishness’. There was bunting, garden party tables, fake hedges, potted plants, pearly kings and queens and street performers leaping around for delighted children!
