Stop Procrastination and Rewire Your Mind Using the Chakra System
Sep 16, 2024Did you know you have a rainbow inside of you and the quality of your rainbow affects your life?
Earlier this year I attended a free workshop called Rewire and Manifest, which is a brilliant introduction to the science of manifestation, subconscious rewiring, and how to use the ancient Chakra system to identify and shift where you are energetically blocked AKA what your limiting beliefs, decisions, and conclusions are.
Now, the Chakras are way more than woo-woo rainbow-coloured "concepts" of energy. Each of them is actually linked to a gland in your body.
Here's the thing - your glands control your hormones. Your hormones influence your emotions. Your emotions affect your actions and decisions. Your actions and decisions decide your life. Ergo (don't you just love that word!) the energy flowing through your body's glands impacts your life.
Look, having limitations is part of being human. Your subconscious is wired for survival. You will always choose the path of least resistance, which is either the one that creates the biggest positive feeling or the one that avoids the most pain! More often than not we're guided by pain avoidance and that's what keeps us stuck.
For example, if you're feeling stuck and you find yourself popping your procrastination pants on and climbing into your mind hammock, you've probably got an underactive Solar Plexus Chakra. In which case today's experiment is for you to help start balancing it!
When you change your inner world your outer world shifts to mirror that change, and small shifts lead to big changes (this is the foundational principle of my coaching practice).
My inner world was already changing thanks to the coaching I was getting. Then with the additional rewiring during the free Rewire and Manifest workshop, I won a complimentary place on the paid group coaching programme the workshop promoted! And that, in turn, contributed even more to my ongoing transformation.
Side note: Being human means there’s always another level of transformation. If you’ve ever thought, "When I'm X (fixed/whole/healed/*insert your own excuse/story), then I'll do Y." you'll never get there. Because, dear friend, you ain't broken, you're already whole (limitations are just stories we've told ourselves for so long we believe them), and healing happens in the "doing" of things not in the thinking or talking about!

THE PURPOSE: Overcome procrastination
THE TASK: Make pleasure more powerful than avoidance of pain
Your Solar Plexus Chakra (represented by the colour yellow and located in your stomach below your sternum) is linked to your pancreas. Perhaps your procrastination is connected to fearing judgment, fearing failure or fearing success! Maybe you catch yourself feeling anxious or have stomach problems. These are all signs that your Solar Plexus Chakra is out of whack.
Yet, when this energy centre is balanced you are confident and you're taking action towards your goals and your vision, rather than merely thinking, planning or talking about doing it.
To get you started on balancing your Solar Plexus Chakra try using a method called The Three Baskets (taught to me in the group coaching programme by my wonderful mentor, Roxanne Miranda - I shall be paraphrasing so don't quote me!).
This is one way you can start to teach your subconscious that doing the thing is better than not doing the thing. Remember, we talked about pain avoidance earlier. By focusing on enjoyment and moving with confidence and clarity you can rewire your subconscious to favour action over inaction.
Before you take any action make sure ALL three baskets are filled with a big fat YES and this will help you take the darn action:
Basket #1 It feels darn good thinking about it
(this is the easy part right!)
Basket #2 It feels ruddy great doing the thing
(if you aren't enjoying taking action then get curious and creative about what you can do to change this - try telling yourself it's fun to do while you're doing it, try figuring out the best time of day for you to do it, try asking yourself "if it felt good what am I doing?", try digging into what you're afraid of or the benefits of not doing the thing etc. - holla if you need help with any of this BTW!)
Basket #3 It feels blooming marvellous reminiscing about having done it!
(pop into the future and see it as done in all its full sensory glory - and embody all of that now)
By ensuring all three baskets are filled, you align your actions with positive emotions, helping to balance your Solar Plexus Chakra and overcome procrastination.
In other words: You take the action you've been thinking about. You enjoy doing it. And you already know how good it feels to have gotten it done and that is some sweet motivation right there! And in the meantime, you've had a blast in the process.
